Day 6 – Caernarfon and Snowdonia National Park

We drove through the resort town of Llandudno to view its “Alice in Wonderland” statues and sculptures before heading out to Caernarfon.

We had a guided tour of the remains of Caernarfon Castle followed by free time to explore the town.

Day 5 – Chester and Northern Wales

Today’s weather was warm, humid and overcast. We headed for the ancient city of Chester which was settled by the Romans in 79 AD. We walked the city walls, toured the 1,000 year-old Chester Cathedral, and had lunch at Bella Italia.

After lunch we drove into North Wales and arrived at the Quay Hotel & Spa in Deganwy, Conwy for a two-night stay. I had a nice view of the waterfront (and an occasional feathered friend) from my room. We ended our day with a guided wine and canape tasting followed by a Welsh-inspired three-course dinner.
